Ron Sandler
President and Paramedic
Ron Sandler purchased Del Norte Ambulance in 1985 when he was 25 years old. Since then, he has built the company into a respected force in the community, and the industry.
Along with being an owner and a working paramedic, he has served on many local boards, including the Del Norte Senior Center, Sutter Coast Hospital, Rural Human Services, and the Crescent City Rotary Club. He has also been active in both local and regional economic development programs.
Ron has also held leadership positions in the California Ambulance Association and the American Ambulance Association.
Ron enjoys spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, and works as needed as a wildland paramedic during fire season.
Charles Tweed
Operations Manager and Paramedic
Charles Tweed stepped into the Operations Manager role at Del Norte Ambulance in 2002, and has been a major part of the company’s growth during that time.
He began his EMS career as an EMT-B, then as a paramedic.
Charles is an avid outdoorsman, an accomplished fishermen, and enjoys spending time in the wild with his wife Jen and their three children.
John Pritchett
General Manager
John Pritchett has been part of the Del Norte Ambulance team since 2000, specializing in human resources and community outreach. He is often the best buddy for Rescue Raccoon, the Del Norte Ambulance mascot, at schools and events.
He is well known in the community for his work with a wide range of local events and organizations, including the governor appointed Del Norte Fair Board. He has twice been president of the Crescent City Rotary Club and twice named Rotarian of the Year. He is also recognized as the Voice of the Warriors as the play-by-play man on radio for Del Norte High football and basketball.
John is proud of the service Del Norte Ambulance has provided to the community, and its commitment to always provide professional, compassionate care to the residents and visitors to the community.
John is married to his high school sweetheart Donna, and enjoys golf, basketball officiating and being the goofball grandfather to Maverick and Lucy.
Erica Blockman
Clinical Manager
Erica Blockman is Del Norte Ambulance’s Clinical Manager. She was born and raised in Siskiyou County and was well known in Mount Shasta for her athleticism and taking part in numerous sporting events within the community. Erica went on to pursue a degree in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology in hopes of becoming a Physical Therapist and Athletic trainer.
After an introduction to the fire service in 2007 she switched majors to emergency medicine and fire science. Erica has served her communities on and off as a Firefighter/Engineer since 2007 and Paramedic since 2010. Erica since then has established experience with both ground and flight critical care medicine after acquiring her Flight Paramedic Certificate.
Erica is a top 10 IFBB Olympian Bodybuilder in the Women’s Physique division and has competed across the USA, while promoting females in EMS with articles such as âFemales in the Fire Service in Fire Engineering articles and media platforms.
In her spare time she enjoys continued education in emergency medicine and attending out of state training. She also enjoys weight-lifting/ bodybuilding, paintball, hiking and spending time with her family and loved ones.
